Comparative Analgesic Effect of Traditional Formulation Shuntyadi Yoga Lepa and Its Neo Formulation as Balm on Shirashula

Background: Chikista is mainly of two types i.e., antaraparmarjana and bahiramarimrjana. For relief sthanika lakshana, immediate chikista required. Lepa kalpana one type barimarimarjana chikista. pacifies the provoked local dosha by prahladana, shodhana, sopha harana. Shirah “uttamanga” all anga sharira it abode (ashraya) prana indriya. Charaka has described five shiroroga, whereas Sushruta, Bhavamishra Yogaratnakara have classified eleven shiroroga. Shirashoola also mentioned as synonym Methods:Shuntyadi yoga traditionally practised medicine which was used for treatment shirashula. With intention forwarding traditional knowledge patient compliance shuntyadi modified into balm form. The ingredients are shunti, haridra, maricha, lashuna form additional like menthol, methyl salicylate, camphor added. Ghanasara drugs prepared preparation vati balm. Results:All formulation reference shulahara property so when they formulated together because synergetic effect their efficacy will be potentiated. Both formulations were administered 15 patients each result analysed. Conclusion:The results shown that both forms effective in shoolahara property. Comparing patient’s feedback, can concluded beneficial considering organoleptic characters compliance. So, continue usage practice.
